Meet William and Jaxon!

William Joseph Mendenhall was born at 10:25 AM and was 5 lbs 1 oz and 18 in long.

Jaxon Lee Mendenhall was born at 10:27 AM and was 4 lbs 10 oz and 18 in long.
When I was 33 weeks and 2 days along I went to the hospital and found out I was in the early stages of preeclampsia. I had really high blood pressure and toxins in my blood test and a lot of protein in my urine. So the doctor decided that it was gonna be best for the twins and I to get them out into this world of ours. So on Tuesday, October 12, 2010 My husband and I became the proud parents of two precious little boys! I had to have an emergency c-section and because of the medicine they had to give me to help with the preeclampsia I wasn't able to see my boys until Thursday night. It was really hard to have people say they got to hold my precious little boys before me, but it was well worth the wait to be able to finally get to go hold my little guys. Their lungs were not fully developed and they needed to learn how to eat, but other then that we were very blessed with healthy babies. We stayed in the hospital for 2 1/2 weeks before we got to bring them home on Saturday, October 30, 2010

Surprise!

When I was 5 months pregnant we went in for our ultrasound to find out the sex of our baby. Half way through the ultrasound the lady stopped and asked us what we were told at our first ultrasound. I said "That it was one baby." She smiled and said "Well, there are two in there." My husband was speechless, I thought he was going to fall off his chair! I was super excited, I had always wanted twins. We were having identical twin boys! Telling our family and friends was interesting, because no one believed us. You see my husband is one of those guys that likes to make stuff up just to get a reaction out of people. Thankfully we had pictures and a DVD of the ultrasound to help us out.
